Scientists are working to develop potentially pain-free micro-needles, and a Gwent skin expert is part of the project. In theory, micro-needles could be self-administered by patients without a doctor or nurse present. “Hairdressers ‘risk skin disease”

Almost half of the UK’s hairdressers and barbers are suffering from a serious skin complaint caused by their work, health inspectors have complained. The local authorities’ health watchdog, Lacors, says about 50,000 workers have dermatitis – a painful skin complaint that can cause swelling and blistering.
